MOT Due Date Calculator
Enter your current MOT expiry date to find out when your next test is due, how many days you have left, and the earliest date you can test without losing any days.
How the MOT Due Date Works
Your MOT certificate is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. The new expiry date is calculated from the old expiry date — not from when you tested.
This means you can test up to one month minus a day early without losing the existing renewal date. Testing earlier means the new certificate normally expires 12 months from the test date.
For new vehicles, the first MOT is due on the 3rd anniversary of first registration. After that, it's annual.
