MOTScout

Privacy Policy

MOTScout is an independent MOT test-centre directory. This policy explains what information may be processed when you use the site and which external services are involved.

Information You Provide

If you email info@motscout.co.uk, we receive your email address and the information in your message so that we can respond. Do not send vehicle registration numbers or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for your enquiry.

Advertising and Consent

MOTScout uses Google AdSense. In regions where consent is required, Google Funding Choices displays a consent message before advertising storage or personalised advertising is used. Depending on your choice, Google and its advertising partners may process cookie identifiers, IP address, device and browser information, approximate location, and interactions with advertisements. You can reject non-essential purposes or manage the available options through the privacy choices shown by the Google consent message.

Read Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from partner sites.

Analytics

The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate usage such as page visits and referrers. Vercel processes the technical request data needed to provide that service. See the Vercel Privacy Policy.

Maps, Directions and Location Search

  • OpenStreetMap supplies map tiles. Loading a map sends your IP address and normal browser request information to OpenStreetMap tile servers.
  • Choosing “Get directions” opens Google Maps in a new tab and is then subject to Google's privacy policy.
  • The “near me” tool asks the browser for permission before accessing coordinates. If you allow it, coordinates are sent to BigDataCloud to identify a nearby locality and route you to an available city page. MOTScout does not store those coordinates in its own database.

Legal Bases and Retention

We process enquiries to respond to your request and operate the site on the basis of legitimate interests. Where required, advertising storage and personalised advertising rely on your consent. Service providers retain information according to their own policies and applicable law. Email correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed to handle the enquiry and any related legal obligations.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Contact info@motscout.co.uk. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

External Sites and Changes

External websites have their own privacy practices. We may update this policy when services or legal requirements change; the current version is always published at this URL.
