What a recall means

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer identifies a defect that needs corrective work. The repair is normally arranged through the manufacturer's dealer network.

Before buying a used car

  1. 1. Search the registration. A model may be affected while a particular vehicle has already been repaired.
  2. 2. Ask for evidence. Keep invoices or dealer confirmation for completed work.
  3. 3. Contact the manufacturer. The dealer can confirm the campaign and arrange the remedy.
